FAQ

Common questions

Does TranSend upload my files?
No. Files transfer directly between your devices over the local network. TranSend has no server component that stores or relays file contents.
Do I need an account?
No. You can send and receive without signing up or logging in on either the Android app or the Windows companion.
Can I send folders?
Yes. Folders are sent as a recursive multi-file transfer with their original structure.
Does Windows need to be on the same Wi-Fi?
Yes. Both devices need to be reachable on the same local network — either the same Wi-Fi network or one device's mobile hotspot.
Why is Windows marked as a companion?
Android is the primary, fully-featured app. The Windows app is a companion focused specifically on receiving and sending transfers to and from your Android device.
